19 arrested in youth assault case

TANGLA, June 11: A total of 19 people, including juveniles, were arrested on Friday night from Kapurpara area of Udalguri district for their alleged involvement in the attack on a local businessman and setting ablaze his car. They have been taken into police custody for further interrogation. Now there is a new twist in the tale. Although this is an isolated case, people are trying link this incident to the brutal attack on a tribal boy in Harisinga on May 30. It is alleged that this attack on the businessman was a retaliatory act. This has already created a tense situation in the area. Section 144 CrPC has been clamped in the entire area.
