2 arrested by Lahowal police for abusing minor boy

DIBRUGARH: Lahowal police arrested two people on charges of abusing and mugging a 12-year-old minor boy. The arrested persons later were identified as Biki Gupta, owner of a hotel at Green Wood Tea Estate and Abinash Gowala who had mercilessly beaten the minor boy who was engaged in the hotel as a child labourer.

As per the directives of the hotel owner Biki Gupta, the minor child employee of the hotel moved Abhinash Gowala's parked motorbike to a suitable parking place nearby. Seeing this Abhinash Gowala got enraged. As the bike was shifted without his permission so he thrashed the child employee. The entire incident which was recorded in the CCTV footage became viral in social media. Lahowal police acted on inputs from social media's coverage, arrested both Biki Gupta and Abhinash Gowala and lodged a case (No.336/21) under section 448/294/325/34 IPC R/W Sec 14 of the Child labour Act, R/W sec 75 Juvenile Justice Act.
