2 picnickers killed in road mishap at Chhatachura, Karimganj
Two youths of a picnic party were killed after the mini truck in which they were travelling fell down from a hillock.

SILCHAR: Two youths of a picnic party were killed after the mini truck in which they were travelling fell down from a hillock. The incident happened on Saturday evening at Chhatachura in Ratabari in Karimganj, leaving 13 people seriously injured.
Those who were killed were identified as Aftar Hussain (16) and Biswajit Lohar (25). Both were from Katlicherra of Hailakandi. The party was returning from Garad Hill, a popular picnic spot and the vehicle, a Tata Magic truck, rolled down from the hillock for at least 100 metres. Local residents rescued the passengers. Hussain and Lohar died on the spot. Later, police arrived at the spot and sent the seriously injured people to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Condition of three passengers is reportedly critical.
