20 year old electrician allegedly raped minor girl in Silchar

Silchar: In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old electrician allegedly raped a 6-year-old girl in Silchar’s Ramgarh area on Tuesday night.

As per reports, an electrician by profession, notorious Bipul Sarkar was on duty on a newly constructed building in Ramgarh area on Tuesday when taking the opportunity of darkness, Bipul headed towards the residence of the victim girl and allegedly raped her and escaped from the spot.

A case was registered against the accused, following which Silchar police on Wednesday arrested Bipul.

It may be mentioned that accused Bipul Sarkar son of Kirmon Sarkar is a resident of Kanchanpur area in Silchar.

Meanwhile, the family members of the victim girl have demanded death penalty as quantum of punishment.

Further police investigation is on.
