21st foundation day of Srimanta Sankardev Satriya Nitya Mahavidyalaya

It has completed its glorious 21 years of existence. On the eve of its 21st foundation day, a function was held at Bonai Robi Borah Gaon Naamghar on the outskirts of Teok in Jorhat recently.
In the function Sonaram Burah Bhakat, vaishnav of Kamalabari satra, Pankaj Saikia, secretary, Asom Xatra Maha Xabha (AXMS), examination board, Nilamoni Borah, noted journalist and executive member of AXMS, Khanin Pator, satriya exponent of Borgeet and others were present as a distinguish guests.
In his speech, Pankaj Saikia urged upon the new generation to come forward and learn satriya dance and songs. At the same time he also appealed the State government to appoint satriya teachers in schools to boost stariya culture among the new generation. In the meeting Srimonta Sankardev Satriya Nitya Mahavidyalaya conferred Sankar Madhav Award 2020 to Sonaram Burah Bhakat, a noted vaishnav of Kamalabari Xatra.
Receiving the award he expressed his thankfulness and gratitude to Srimanta Sankardev Satriya Nitya Mahavidyalaya fraternity. He highlighted the contribution of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev and Madhabdeva towards Assamese society. He urged upon the upcoming generation to work dedicatedly for the self development as well as social development.
