24 People Hospitalized After Having Prasad In Assam's Cachar District

Guwahati: In an untoward incident, at least 24 people were hospitalized after consuming 'Prasad' at a Puja Utsav in Kurkuri Tea Estate in Assam's Cachar district.

Reportedly, the suffered people went to the Puja Utsav in Kurkuri Tea Estate last Monday, where they had 'Khichdi' as a Prasad. Soon after that people started vomiting and also complained of stomach pain.

According to a health officer from Gumrah Primary Heatlh Centre (PHC), six more people were shifted to Kalain Community Health Centre (CHC) after they complained of severe stomach pain.

Meanwhile, all the serious patients have been referred to Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) for better treatment.
