Rangia: 24th Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal, Rangia celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with great joy and traditional enthusiasm on Saturday. On this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the sisters of Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Bishwabidyalaya ,Puthimari applied Tilak to S H.K. Gupta, Commandant, 24th Battalion Rangia and other officers and soldiers tied Raksha Sutra (Rakhi) on their wrists and wished them good health and bright future.
On this occasion, H.K. Gupta, Commandant extended his heartfelt wishes to all the soldiers and their families. In his address, Gupta mentioned the mythological stories explaining the importance of Raksha Bandhan and said that this Raksha Sutra is not just a thread, but a symbol of trust, love and unbreakable bond between a brother and sister. He said that such events boost the morale of the officers and soldiers deployed on the border to serve the country, away from their families, and make them experience a family atmosphere. He also said that festivals like Raksha Bandhan strengthen the mutual trust, love and unity between the soldiers and the local community. In the same sequence the festival was also celebrated at the battalion’s border outposts Paharpur, Guiden Chowk, Bimlanagar and Guabari. Sisters from Seemant Chetna Manch, Northeast expressed their love and respect towards the soldiers deployed at the border outposts by tying Rakhi on their wrists. Along with this, children from local schools also expressed their love by tying Rakhi to the soldiers. The soldiers also took their best wishes by giving sweets and gifts to the sisters.
