261 fresh COVID cases in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: One more person died due to COVID-19 and 261 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur district on Friday, thereby increasing the total number of active cases in the district to 2,080. These cases were reported from various parts of the district.

Official sources said that COVID positive Rajkumari Sharma (50), resident of Rangapara died at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. The total number of COVID deaths in the district has increased to 127 during the second wave of the pandemic. Till Thursday, a total of 2,12,119 people received COVID vaccine. Out of 2,12,119 people, 1,54,326 have taken the first dose while 57,793 people have got the second dose of vaccine in Sonitpur district, said DIO, Sonitpur, Dr Biman Sharma.
