27th State level Children Science Congress held in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The 27th State level Children Science Congress (NCSC) will be held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya(JNV), Rongajan, about 7 km away from Doomdooma, from November 1 to 4. In the reception Committee meet that was organized at JNV, Rongajan premises in association with the Tinsukia district administration and Tinsukia district organizing committee, NCSC with Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Shymal Kshetra Gogoi in the chair on Wednesday formed a strong Reception Committee with Deputy Commissioner(DC) Oinam Charan Singh as president, ADC Shymal Kshetra Gogoi as working president, Inspector of Schools, Tinsukia district circle, Bitopan Hazarika as member secretary and NCSC, Tinsukia district co-ordinator, Diganta Bhajani as joint secretary.

Besides forming different sub-committees, a tentative budget was also presented in the meeting for approval of the house. State co-ordinator Ramen Gogoi highlighted different aspects of the four-day long programme while three other speakers namely, president, Bharat Jana Vigyan Jatha Jiten Sarmah, president Assam Science Writers’ Association Dhiren Deka and president Tinsukia Zila Parishad Lalit Moran addressed the gathering and offered various suggestions on organizational aspects. It was decided to publish a daily bulletin on all the days under the editorship of journalist Abhijit Khataniar in addition to bringing out a souvenir on the occasion with Harakanta Barua as Editor.

From Assam Science, Technology and Environment Council(ASTEC), which is the State organizer of the NCSC, its project officer Sandip Bhattacharya, who devised the software for online registration of NCSC and is a member of National Academic Committee, attended the meeting, also attended by the officials of the different government departments, school teachers, academicians and various office-bearers of NCSC past and present.
