DOOMDOOMA: The 29th Tinsukia District National Children Science Congress (NCSC) was held at Hoonlal HS School premises, Doomdooma in virtual mode on Sunday.

The theme of this year was 'Science for sustainable living' and the projects submitted by the students of the age-group 10-17 years belonging to different schools of the Tinsukia district on five sub-themes, were examined by the evaluators on online mode. The programme got underway in the morning by hoisting of flag by Dhiren Deka, immediate past president, Assam Science Writers' Association (ASWA). Thereafter, working president of Tinsukia District NCSC, Gajendra Nath Moran inaugurated the online submission process of the projects by the students under the supervision of Academic Coordinator Manoranjan Sonowal.

Dr Kishor Haloi, Sailendra Mohan Das, Dr Jay Dayal Mali, Dr Sudarshan Gogoi and Kshyanajit Gogoi evaluated the projects under the supervision of District Coordinator Diganta Bhajani. Akash Gogoi, Bikash Dutta, Homen Changmai, George Ratnama and Keshab Bezbaruah extended co-operation as external and internal evaluators. Out of 97 such projects, nine projects were selected for State-level NCSC to be held on January 6, January 7 and January 8, 2022.
