3 arrested with smuggled timber in Dudhnoi

GOALPARA: The Dudhnoi police on Thursday night, following a secret tip off, arrested three timber smugglers along with two vehicles they were using for transportation purpose. The incident has taken place at Darapara Borjhar area under Krishnai range forest. According to the version of Mukut Kakoty, officer in charge of Dudhnoi police station, the police received a secret information of this illegal activity and by carrying out the operation seized about 126 logs worth 2 lakh rupees and arrested Mohiruddin Mondal, Ajoy Rabha and Bhimlal Chetry.

Police has also seized the vehicles, with Registration No. AS25-AC-4811 and AS25:EC-2898 from the spot. The police later coordinated with the forest department for the following procedures.
