3 held with 3.2 kg pangolin scales in Nagaon

NAGAON: Based on a tip-off, a team from the Forest Headquarters, Guwahati and Dakshin Nagaon Forest Division, Hojai carried out a massive search operation at Lanka on Saturday and seized over 3.2 kg pangolin scales from the possessions of three persons.
The forest officials arrested all of them on spot and further investigation is on, sources added.
According to the sources, the arrested persons have been identified as Jaban Uddin (36), Jiyabur Rahman (38) and Billal Ahmed (45). They are all being involved in the illegal trafficking of skin, flesh, horns, etc., of various wild animals of the region for long, the sources added.
