31st National Road Safety Week, 2020 kicks off at Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The 31st National Road Safety Week, 2020 kicked off in Lakhimpur on Saturday under the aegis of the Lakhimpur District Transport Department in collaboration with Dil Swadhin, NGO.

The agenda of the week-long event was inaugurated by Lakhimpur District Transport Officer Sitaram Doley with the unfurling of the flag in a public meeting organized on this occasion. In the meeting, which was organized under the management of the NGO president Hemanta Bonia, stress was laid on obeying traffic rules across the district in order to ensure road safety. The officers and employees along with the public took part in the programme.

In this connection, a foot march was organized in North Lakhimpur town with the participation of hundreds of students. Further, a campaign of gifting roses to traffic violators was also organized in order to sensitize people about traffic rules.
