362 Smartphones distributed to Anganwadi workers in Dibrugarh district

Dibrugarh: A total of 362 smartphones were distributed to Anganwadi workers of Urban and Lahoal Integrated Child Development projects in Dibrugarh district on Tuesday as a part of ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services)-CAS (common application software) programme at a function held at the District Library, Dibrugarh.

ICDS-CAS is a part of Poshan Abhiyan, which was specially designed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development to strengthen the service delivery system of ICDS and the mechanism for real-time monitoring.

Distributing the smartphones, Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan said that implementation of ICDS-CAS would help improve the nutrition outcomes through effective monitoring and timely intervention. The function was also attended by Lahoal MLA Rituparna Baruah, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dibrugarh, Nandita Baruah, District Social Welfare Officer, Jyotirekha Borgohain and other dignitaries. All 2,152 Anganwadi workers of the district will be covered under ICDS-CAS.
