39 COVID cases detected in Sonitpur District

TEZPUR: One more person died due to COVID-19 and 39 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Sonitpur District on Sunday.

Out of the 39 fresh cases, 28 cases were detected from RAT and 11 from RT-PCR. The death toll in the district during the second wave of the pandemic now stands at 222. Altogether 4,848 tests were done across the district on Sunday, out of which 4,663 were RAT and rest RT-PCR.

Official sources said that COVID positive Sumeswar Nath (52), resident of Maz Rowmari, Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur died at a Tezpur Medical College and Hospital.
