39th Dibrugarh District Foundation Day observed

Dibrugarh: The 39th Dibrugarh District Foundation Day was observed at Sishu Bharati Bhawan on Tuesday under the supervision of the president of the organizing committee, Dr. Shantanu Lahkar. Noted litterateur, Deviprasad Bagrodia attended the event as its chief guest, and acclaimed educationist Dr. Mukul Kumar Sharma was a special guest on the occasion. At the event, a memorial book published in commemoration of the foundation day and edited by famed litterateur, Bhuvan Lahkar was officially inaugurated by former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr. Nagen Saikia. Dr. Lahkar, in his welcome address, gave a detailed account of the journey of Dibrugarh as a district. Bagrodia and Dr. Sharma also highlighted the important events of Dibrugarh ever since it was separated from Lakhimpur district. Dr Saikia, praised the memorial book, and underscored the societal, cultural and educational aspects of the district. He also recounted the contribution of Singhapurush Radhagovinda Baruah towards making a modern Dibrugarh.
