3rd 'Crop Insurance Week' launched in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: The third Crop Insurance Week from July 1 to July 7 under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' campaign to mark the 75th anniversary of the independence of the country was inaugurated on Friday. On the occasion, the Sonitpur District Agriculture Department launched 'Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance' among farmers in 82 Gaon Panchayats, 15 Agricultural Development Zones and 7 Zonal Development Zones.

Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited and Sonitpur District Agriculture Department arranged IEC vans to go to villages to sensitize farmers about 'Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance' on the occasion of 'Crop Insurance Week'. The IEC was flagged off by Naren Chandra Sharma, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Sonitpur District, who went to villages to promote 'Prime Minister's Crop Insurance'. The country's agriculture department has launched an awareness meeting among farmers in each Gaon Panchayat of the district to promote the benefits of Prime Minister's Crop Insurance among farmers.
