4 heroin peddlers arrested in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from the Basistha Police Station raided a hideout at Khanapara here on Thursday and arrested four drug peddlers - Padumi Gogoi of Sonapur, Dipankar Hazarika of Jorhat, Punam Hazarika and Rahul Baruah (both of Khanapara) - while seizing 5.61 gm of heroin from their possession.

In another incident, another EGPD team from the Sonapur Police Station recovered a Tata Truck (AS01 FC 0316) from Mikirbhata in Morigaon on Thursday, less than 24 hours after it was reported stolen.
