400th birth anniversary celebration of Lachit Borphukan observed in Karbi Anglong

HOWRAGHAT: With the rest of the State, the 400th birth anniversary of Lachit Barphukan was observed in the hill district of Karbi Anglong by holding different events. The celebration in all educational institutions and other government establishments started from November 19 and it will come to an end on November 24.

Events like essay writing competition, tree plantation, drawing and art, seminar, debate, extempore speech and quiz etc have been going on in the schools and colleges. On Sunday, the birth anniversary celebration of great army general of Lachit Borphukan began with planting of large number of saplings planted by students, teachers and other employees of different government departments in their respective school, college and office premises.
