45th foundation day of Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association held at Chaliha Nagar

TINSUKIA: The 45th foundation day of Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association (TDJA) was held recently amid the presence of past journalists of the district with special felicitation to surviving founder members at Chaliha Nagar Field Tinsukia where National Book Fair was held. The programme, chaired by TDJA president Dr Rishi Das, also had an interaction programme with noted journalists Arun Kumar Das, editor of Ahom Aditya and Monuram Gogoi, a celebrated journalist of Assam.

The 4 surviving founder members namely Jiten Sarma, founder secretary, Arjun Baruah, Purnananda Baruah and Prafulla Sarma, all founder EC members, were specially felicitated. All surviving past journalists numbering around 67 who were once associated with media were felicitated with citation and memento. Monuram Gogoi while interacting with students advocated for activism. Rana Kumar Changmai, a former journalist moderated the interaction programme. Founder member Arjun Baruah narrated a brief history of Tinsukia District Journalists’ Association.
