48 contact persons of COVID-19 patients in Golaghat test negative

Golaghat: As many as 48 persons who came in contact with COVID-19 positive patients of Golaghat, tested negative for the viral disease, informed the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat.

As per reports, 9 persons who attended the Nizamuddin Markaz congregation tested positive for COVID-19. Fifty persons came in contact with these persons. The administration put all the 50 persons in the quarantine centre of Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital and collected the samples for testing. Out of 50 persons, 48 persons were found COVID-19 negative.

The Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Bibhash Chandra Modi said that villages Islampur, Rampur, Bheloguri of Merapani, Lurukihat and Dighalipukhuri of Golaghat district had already been sealed by the district administration. COVID-19 positive patients were detected from these villages. Entry and exit to these villages has been strictly prohibited.

In Golaghat district, there are 2,693 persons under home quarantine. Out of them, 1,540 persons have already completed 14 days home quarantine period without any symptoms. The DC also said that essential commodities for the people of Golaghat district were available.
