5 kg ganja seized; one held by Sonitpur Police

TEZPUR: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Sonitpur Police under the supervision of SP Sushanta Biswa Sarma and Additional SP, (Headquarters) Madhurima Das, laid a naka checking led by SI Simanta Pathak, IC Borghat OP under Tezpur PS near Parua Chariali, NH 37. During checking, Faizal Hazarika (48), resident of Bhaluke Khowa Gaon under Tezpur PS in the Sonitpur district, was arrested. The police recovered about five kilograms of ganja and also seized a vehicle bearing registration number AS12 W 6787 from him on Wednesday night.
