DHUBRI: Fifty nanotechnology drinking water purifiers were distributed among the poor beneficiaries under Swachh Tarang scheme of Tata Chemical Society in a simple function held at the Chilarai Krishi Bikash Samiti (CKBS) office premises on Wednesday. CKBS has been working in the villages across Dhubri district for providing pure drinking water among the villagers since many years. General secretary of CKBS, Mohammadul Haque informed that ground water and other sources of drinking water in Dhubri district were contaminated with fluoride, arsenic and high-level iron. Moreover, PH level of the water is also beyond the permissible parameter.

While addressing the beneficiaries, marketing supervisor of Tata Chemical Society for Rural Development, Salman Zameer spoke at a length on the various diseases borne out of drinking contaminated water. “By this nanotechnology, water is completely purified and consuming this purified water will make people healthy and keep them free from any water-borne diseases,” Zameer assured.

The meeting was also addressed by a social worker, Dr. Muskara Ahmed, advocate Ezaz Ahmed and Swachh Tarang interpreter, Lachit Choudhury while it was presided over by local media person Bijoy Kumar Sharma.
