51 labourers nabbed at Chaprakata in Bongaigaon district

BONGAIGAON: Total 51 labourers who were trying to enter Assam from another State in a truck were nabbed on Saturday. The incident took place at Chaprakata in Bongaigaon district where a container truck bearing registration number UP-21-CN-0250 was checked by police and they found 51 labourers inside the truck who were trying to enter Assam secretly. As per sources, these labourers are coming from Raiganj of West Bengal. "First they walked for about 50 km and then they found the container truck at Dalkhola in West Bengal. They requested the truck driver to take them to Assam and the driver agreed after taking money from them. But all of them were nabbed in Bongaigaon," sources said. The police sent the labourers for medical check-up and quarantine.
