559 COVID-19 cases detected in Lakhimpur in three days

LAKHIMPUR: Lakhimpur district administration and the District Health Department launched an intensive drive of Rapid Antigen Test to detect COVID-19 patients in the district from Monday to Wednesday. This drive was undertaken in view of increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district as per the directive of the Health and Family Welfare Department and in the interest of the containment of the pandemic and to maintain public health and hygiene.

The drive covered the State Government officials, including educational establishment, Central Government officials including educational establishment, public undertaking under both governments, shop and commercial establishments including malls and warehouses, individual households, other public and private offices and agencies

During the drive, a total of 559 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the district in the last three days. Out of them, 151 patients were found positive on Monday, 181 patients on Tuesday while 226 patients were detected on Wednesday. With these newly-detected patients, the number of total COVID-19 cases in the district spiked to 6,663 on Wednesday.

Out of them, 4704 patients have been discharged while 1,950 are active cases. They are under treatment at District COVID Hospital at Telahi Model Hospital (86), Laluk COVID Care Center (CCC) at Laluk Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur CCC at Narayanpur Model Hospital (50), Narayanpur Poly-technique CCC (102), Boginadi CCC at Boginadi Model Hospital (50), Naoboicha College CCC (180) and North Lakhimpur Civil Hospital (80) while the remaining patients are in home isolation.

On the other hand, Lakhimpur DC Jeevan B was shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital on Tuesday. He tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. Along with him, his wife and cook were also detected positive for COVID-19 through Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) on the same day.
