BAKSA: The 58th Tamulpur subdivision Rongali Bihu was celebrated with adherence to COVID protocol with a two-day programme.

Dr. Ramen Kumar Kakati and Brajendra Nath Deka hoisted the Bihu flag of the standing committee and the Bihu Celebration Committee on the first day on Friday. Various sports competitions were held. Bihu song, bangeet and Kamrupi folk song competition were held. The Bihu mouthpiece Rangili was unveiled by Mrinal Das, secretary general, Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad. Social activist Keshab Rajbanshi inaugurated the open Bihu competition.

The marathon race competition was held on Saturday along with painting competition, pitha pana competition, Bihuwan competition and Xoru Bihuvati competition. The cultural programme held in the evening successfully concluded the 58th Tamulpur subdivision Rongali Bihu. Tamulpur's Tongali Bihu Huchari team secured first prize , Bangsor Bihu Huchari team secured second and Latibari AnchLik Bihu Huchari team secured third prize in the open Bihu competition. Rajib Baruai of Sipajhar finished first in the marathon race, Sofikul Islam of Chaygaon was second and Rudreswar Deka of Shipajhar secured third prize in the marathon. Sumi Deka secured first prize in the pitha pana competition.
