6 arrested for insulting Indian National Flag in Bongaigaon district

BONGAIGAON: Total six persons were arrested on Saturday by Abhayapuri police for allegedly insulting the Indian national flag. The incident had taken place on Friday when total 8 persons allegedly insulted the national flag in the Tengnamari area under Abhayapuri PS of Bongaigaon district.

The eight persons had allegedly used the national flag as table cloth over which they had eaten food. The photo of this became viral on social media. Based on the photo, Abhayapuri police nabbed total six persons on Saturday. The nabbed person are Rafiqul Hasan (28), Rashidul Haque (30), Mehzabin (24), Sahidul Islam (29), Hasan M Rahman (29) and Rezina Parbin Sultana (28). Two more persons in the photo are yet to be nabbed. Police registered a case no 436/21 Under Section 2 of Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act, 1971.
