6 more die of COVID in Sonitpur district, new cases 306

TEZPUR: Six persons lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Sonitpur district on Saturday. They have been identified as Ahini Hazarika (95), resident of Niz Halleswar, Goroimari, Joramai Goswami (80), resident of Ketekibari, Tezpur, Abdul Matin (55), resident of Palashbasti, Dhekiajuli, Mrinal Mandal (42), resident of Ward No.5, Dhekiajuli, Pranjit Borah, resident of Chinga Chuburi, Bihaguri and Minu Das (52), resident of Gorjuli, Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur who died in TMCH, taking the death toll to 156 in the district during the second wave of the pandemic.

Altogether 8,698 tests were done across the district on Saturday out of which 8,180 were RAT and rest RT-PCR and among the new 306 positive cases found, 283 cases were from RAT and 6 from RT-PCR.
