62 COVID positive cases detected in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: The number of COVID-19 positive cases is increasing rapidly in Sonitpur district. A total of 62 COVID-19 cases were detected in the district on Wednesday. The total number of active cases in the district was 324, taking the total caseload in the district to 8,668 since May of last year till Wednesday. These cases were reported from various parts of the district. On Tuesday, 78 positive cases were found in Sonitpur district. However, following an increasing number of positive cases, the district administration has declared 25 areas as containment zones in the district.

Meanwhile, the Sonitpur district administration, accompanied by Sonitpur Police, were carrying out drives across the district to enforce COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, especially wearing of face masks.
