73rd foundation day of Assam VDP Organization held near Demow

DEMOW: Under the patronage of Demow Thana Committee and in association with all the VDP parties, the 73rd foundation day of Assam VDP Organization was organized in Dalapa (Dhaibari) near Demow on Saturday.

As per the schedule, the programme started with cleanliness drive which was followed by plantation of saplings. The local senior citizens of the area planted saplings. Ranjit Pegu, president of the organizing committee, hoisted the flag of Assam VDP Organization. Tarun Taye, secretary of the organizing committee, offered the smiti tarpan.

Rajib Ahmed, Second Officer of Demow Police Station, inaugurated the open session. Khirod Mech, president of Demow Thana Committee, presided over the meeting. Aban Kumar Dutta, retired COVDO of Demow Police Thana, was present in the programme as specific orator. Muhan Phukan, COVDO of Demow Police Thana, Shekhar Jyoti Dowari, local media persons of Demow along with other dignitaries were present in the programme as invited guests.
