DEMOW: The 7th International Yoga Day 2021 was observed in Demow and its surrounding areas on Monday.

Under the patronage of Demow Development Block Office, the 7th International Yoga Day 2021 was observed in Demow Multi Purpose Building. On the other hand, under the patronage of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thowra Mandal and in association with Thowra Yuba Morcha, the 7th International Yoga Day 2021 was observed in Rajmai Tea Estate Cultural Kendra. Swagadeo Siu-Ka-Pha Multi Speciality situated at Rajabari near Demow also observed the 7th International Yoga Day 2021 in the hospital premises on Monday.

Tezpur: In order to promote the theme of 7th International Day of Yoga - 'Yoga For Wellness', which focuses on practicing Yoga for physical and mental well-being, Yoga Centre of Tezpur University organized several activities in tune of the theme.

The University, in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Guwahati, organized a two –day yoga workshop for international students studying in Northeast India from June 19 to June 20. The online workshop was attended by students and research scholars from several South Asian and African countries, such as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Namibia and Egypt.

During the workshop, Partha Pratim Das, Yoga coach of the University, demonstrated various Yoga asanas and postures and explained the usefulness of the asanas. Madhurkankana Roy, Regional Director, ICCR was also present during the session.

On June 21, the University organized demonstration of Common Yoga Protocols through online mode for its employees. The University also organized a video blogging contest on the topic 'Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family' amongst TU employees and students

BISWANATH CHARIALI: The 5 Assam Battalion NCC, under the aegis of NCC Group HQs (Tezpur), celebrated 7th International Day of Yoga, on Monday.

NCC cadets of colleges and schools under the Battalion participated with enthusiasm. Activities ranging from actual performance of yoga, writing articles, poems, slogans, making jingles, taking pledges and other creative ideas to spread the message of yoga and India's contribution to the world were showcased. Cadets of the unit from the schools and colleges of Darrang, Udalguri, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Lakhimpur districts took the solemn pledge of yoga in the Ayush Ministry official portal and also participated in the plethora of activities therein.

JAMUGURIHAT: International Yoga Day was celebrated at Jamugurihat. As per the Yoga guidelines issues by the ministry of AYUSH, Niranjan Gogoi, the yoga and fitness instructor of undivided Sonitpur district, organized the 7th International Yoga Day programme at Dekashundar, Jamugurihat and Pithaguri Dool, Kusumtola under Jamuguri PS on Monday.

Rangia: Different organizations, including local administration of entire Kamrup District, celebrated the 7th international YOGA Day on Monday along with the rest of the world. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 24 Battalion, camped at Hahara near Rangia also celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga at the campus of the 24 Bn camp. Hrishikesh Sharma, Commandant 24 Bn SSB Rangia, and all officers, SOs, other ranks of 24 Bn SSB Rangia attended the Yoga programme in the office campus. On the occasion, the Commandant said, "Yoga is the key to sound body and peaceful mind. Yoga is an ancient culture and is a way of life. If you practice 15 minutes of Yoga daily, you will see a great progress in your life as well as in career."

On this occasion, a massive plantation drive was organized at Bn HQ 24 Bn SSB Rangia, BOP Bihangapur and BOP Paharpur. One thousand saplings are planted in order to protect mother nature.

Kamrup district administration, in collaboration with District Ayush Unit and District Health Society, celebrated 7th International Yoga Day at Kamrupa Mancha, Kumar Bhaskar Barman Field, Amingaon. Kailash Karthik N, Kamrup Deputy Commissioner, ADCs Sujit Barlary, PP Kathkotia, Joint Director Health Dr Gunindra Nath Dev Sharma and other officials of the district administration participated in the event. Jyotish Kalita, Yoga Guru of Sadhana Yoga Kendra, demonstrated the practice of Yoga, Pranayam, Dhyan and Satsang for all present on the occasion. In Rangia Model Hospital and in Shiv Mandir campus, the day was celebrated. Local MLA Bhabesh Kalita was present during the programme.
