Guwahati: A few days back, when eighty-year-old Anima Boro was admitted to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), she was in a critical stage. Her doctors, going by the usual trends would have thought that Anima would eventually succumb to Covid-19. But her extraordinary strength and positivity have taken everyone by surprise.

On Friday, a smiling Anima was seen coming out from GMCH after being tested negative for Covid-19. "The care and treatment were really good. The behavior of the staff was very nice which helped me in my recovery," said a happy Anima, after her discharge from the hospital.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a video on Twitter in which Anima was seen leaving the hospital, her face lit up with a smile. He wrote, "80 yr old Covid19 fighter Anima Boro discharged from GMCH after testing negative. She was critically ill during hospitalization. An inspiring moment for all of us when she went out smiling from GMCH. Listen to what she said about our team of doctors and healthcare workers of GMCH." (sic)

In a similarly inspiring incident that transpired on Thursday, a 93-year old woman was discharged from the GMCH after winning the fight against Covid-19.
