85,000 farmers to benefit from Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana

DHUBRI: Around 85,000 farmers of Dhubri district will be benefited by the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme (PM-KISAN Yojana) which was formally launched in Dhubri district at the Dhubri District Library Auditorium on Sunday. The PM-KISAN Yojana was formally launched centrally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh and he simultaneously declared launch of the scheme thereafter at real time on Sunday across the country.

While speaking in the meeting, Dhubri District Agriculture Officer Nikhil Chandra Mandal informed that each farmer having two hectares of land or less would be entitled to get Rs 2,000 yearly in the first phase.

“This amount will be given in three instalments and in the first instalment Rs 2,000 will be given,” Mandal further said. Dhubri district Information and Public Relation Officer Bikash Sarma, who modulated the programme, also spoke at a length on the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and appealed to farmers to use the amount in purchasing seeds and fertilizers to enhance the agricultural produce.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Executive Officer Purabi Konwar while Dhubri Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar), Hemanta Prasad Rajkumar, Dhubri District BJP vice-president Dr. Debamoy Sanyal and representative of Gauripur legislator, Abu Hanif Sheikh also attended and addressed the meeting.
