88th session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha kicks off

MORIGAON: The 88th session of the socio-cultural organization Srimanta Sankardev Sangha kicked off with Srimanta Sankardev’s holy songs at the Rasaraj Lakhsminath Bezbarua Samanwai Khetra in Morigaon from Wednesday.

Chief Minister’s media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami attended as the chief guest of the book inauguration programme. Speaking on the occasion, he asked the new generation to be inspired by Srimanta Sankardeva’s ideology. He released a book titled Morigaon Dapun. A souvenir titled Krishna Katha was inaugurated by Dr Kandarpa Kr. Deka, Vice-Chancellor of Srimanta Sankardev University.

Besides, two books titled Gunanidhi and Gurucharitya Katha were also inaugurated. Earlier, the 88th session got underway with a plantation drive at the Samanway Khetra. Thereafter, Deputy Commissioner of TAC opened the door of the delegate’s meeting cell. Utpal Bordoloi, secretary of the publicity committee informed that total 10,000 volunteers from various districts gathered to serve people in the Samanway Khetra.
