89th annual conference of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha concludes in Numaligarh

Numaligarh: The 89th annual conference of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha concluded with lowering of the dharma dhwaja on Saturday evening.

The dharma dhwaja was lowered by Srimanta Sankardev Sangha Padadhikar Kamakanta Gogoi in presence of general secretary Babul Bora, president, working president and general secretary of the reception committee, Dharmeswar Hazarika, Atul Bora and Chandrakanta Bhuyan respectively. With the lowering of the dharma dhwaja, the four-day long programme concluded successfully.

The last day of the conference started with a naam prasanga at the naamghar by the Dibrugarh district committee of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha. That followed by an antaranga aalap. The journalists present there were also felicitated by the reception committee during the programme. A religious talk was also held in the afternoon. Padadhikar Kamakanta Gogoi, general secretary Babul Bora, chief advisor and former Padadhikar Bhabendranath Deka were present and gave speeches. ATASU president Litul Buragohain, All Chutia Students’ Union secretary Mohen Bora, and other dignitaries were also present in the meeting. Srimanta Sankardev Sangha general secretary Bubul Bora said, “The name and fame of Srimanta Sankardev are widespread across the globe, that’s why people from other countries and continents come to Assam to search for his creations and to know more about him.” “Srimanta Sankardev Sangha is only a medium of spreading the words and ideologies of Srimanta Sankardev. To bring Srimanta Sankardev to the global community, we need to follow the path of his ideologies in our daily life,” he added.

The other member-officials of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha also spoke in the meeting. Everyone appreciated the role of each and every member for their contribution in making the event a great success.

During the lowering of the dharma dhwaja, Padadhikar Kamakanta Gogoi said, “It is really an emotional moment for all of us. We all spent the last four days here in a spiritual and soulful surrounding. But today, as per the schedule we have to lower our most-respected dharma dhwaja and give it to Dibrugarh district committee of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha.”

He also hoped that the 90th annual conference of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, to be held in Dibrugarh next year, would be a great success.

This year more than 20 lakh devotees came to the world heritage Kaziranga Samannay Kshetra in Numaligarh for the 89th annual conference of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha. The publicity and public relations committee President and Secretary accordingly Prodyut Mahanta and Prodip Kr Bora have thanked each and every member of the police, fire, medical and all the other departments for rendering their service in the past few days.
