93rd birth anniversary of Hemendra Prasad Barooah celebrated

JORHAT: The 93rd birth anniversary of Hemendra Prasad Barooah was celebrated by the members of Barooah and Associates Group Pvt Ltd and North East Heritage Pvt Ltd with the inmates of Dagaon Anath Ashram on Monday. Hemendra Prasad Barooah was an Indian entrepreneur, tea planter and philanthropist known for his contribution to Assam tea and tourism. He was honoured by the Government of India in 2013 with the Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of trade and industry. Hemendra Prasad Barooah started out in 1949 with the three tea gardens he inherited from his mother.
