A tribute to Thaneswari Borgohain

Thaneswari Borgohain, aged 91, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021. She is the second daughter of late Anandaram Borgohain and late Jetuki Borgohain of Mesagarh, Assam. After passing her matriculation exam, she moved to Guwahati and studied Arts in Handique Girls College.

She married (late) Toilendranath Borgohain and was blessed with four sons and two daughters. She spend her bustling life at the housing campus of College of Veterinary Science, Assam till 1990, after which she shifted to her homely abode at Jawahar Nagar, Khanapara where she spent the rest of her life in merriment with her sons and daughters, son and daughter-in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived a truly happy and long life, always basking under the warm sun, waiting to welcome visitors in for a cup of tea. She adored celebrations and would always be eagerly ready for one. We will miss her a lot and her smile will live in our hearts forever.
