TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia district committee of the All Assam Hindu Students’ Union (AAHSU) has expressed serious concern over the sale of rotten fish and meat at exorbitant prices during the upcoming Holi and other festivals. In a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, the AAHSU stated that in every festival the meat and fish sellers in Tinsukia district arbitrarily raise prices, besides selling diseased meat, particularly mutton. It also alleged that there was no checking of food stuff in respect of health parameters by the officials concerned. The AAHSU has sought immediate intervention of the Deputy Commissioner.
