AASU activists show black flags to Minister Pijush Hazarika in Sarupathar

SARUPATHAR: Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika and executive member Pranab Jyoti Lahakar were shown black flags at Barpathar in Golaghat district on Tuesday by AASU activists protesting against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019.
The incident happened when the minister was approaching the Barpathar Rajuhuwa Rangamoncha for a meeting to discuss the programme to be held at Bokakhat on January 24 by the BJP.
The activists also shouted slogans against him. Meanwhile, dozens of members of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) of Barpathar regional unit showed black flags while Hazarika’s convoy passed through the Barpathar town area of Golaghat district.
