AASU, AJYCP take out candlelight vigil

Bokajan, June 10: Student activists of AASU and AJYCP lit candles to register their protest against the barbaric killing of two Assamese youths in Panjuri village under Dokmoka Police station of Karbi Anglong district on Friday. The two youths- Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das -visited the hill district to witnesses the scenic Kanthilangso water fall along the Nagaon-Karbi Anglong border. However, the youths were held by a mob and beaten to death on suspicion of being child lifters.

Terming the incident as unfortunate, the student activists lit candles in condolence and demanded that the culprits be identified and nabbed at the earliest. The student leaders also expressed resentment over fake news being circulated on various social media platforms asking people to be careful of child lifters.
