AASU Hatighuli Regional Students’ Union (RSU) organizes Mukoli Bihu in Sivasagar

GAURISAGAR: Like the past years, this year too AASU Hatighuli Regional Students’ Union (RSU), an affiliated body of AASU, Sivasagar district committee, organized Mukoli Bihu with traditional pomp and gaiety at Hatighuli Silpukhuri High School playground on April 15 on the outskirts of Gaurisagar in Sivasagar district.

The day-long programme started with hoisting of AASU flag by Medini Mohan Nath, president of Hatighuli RSU, followed by hoisting of Bihuwan by Muhi Kanta Nath, president of the reception committee. The swahid tarpan was done by Jibon Jyoti Nath, secretary (i/c) of Hatighuli RSU. Later, pitha pona and drawing competition was held.

In the function, Govin Phukan, adviser of Hatighuli RSU felicitated three educationists, Podma Nath, Robin Borah and Dimbeswar Nath, three cultural activists Akon Chutia, Kamala Neog and Bhudhar Tanti. Later, Sarat Hazarika, education secretary of AASU, inaugurated the mukoli bihu function.

On this occasion, a souvenir titled Basanta Boibhab, edited by Sasanka Nath, was unveiled by Dr Subramoni Ayar Lakshmanan, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar.
