AASU-supported candidates win student union election

LAKHIMPUR: AASU-supported candidates won several portfolios of the student body election for 2018-19 session of Lakhimpur Kendriya Mahabidyalaya. They are Mahendra Pegu as president, Leela Chetri as assistant general secretary, Nilamoni Borah as cultural secretary, Madhurya Gogoi as sports secretary, Pinky Saikia as social service secretary, Trishna Dutta as girls’ common room secretary and Rhituporna Saikia as magazine editor, informed North Lakhimpur Regional AASU president Pranjit Gogoi and secretary Punam Jyoti Burhagohain through a press release. On the other hand, Birason Chirang, supported by All India Democratic Students’ Organization, won the election as the general secretary of the students’ union.
