Abinash Kalita and six others bring glory to Pathsala

BARPETA: Total nine students brought glory to Barpeta district in the HS final exam, 2020. One is from Barpeta town, another from Sarbhog while seven candidates made it to the toppers' list in Arts and Science streams from Pathsala. The students of Anundooram Barooah Academy and Krishna Kanta Handique Junior College brought laurels to the education hub of Barpeta district, Pathsala.

In Science stream, Abinash Kalita of Anundooram Barooah Academy secured first position in the HS (science) examination under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). He secured a total of 486 marks with letter marks in all subjects. He is the son of Nirmal Kalita, teacher of a venture school, and Niva Kalita. His parents were very happy with his result. His father said, "This is really a happy and proud moment for me. I hope all his aspirations are fulfilled. Apart from success in his professional career, I want him to be a good human being."

His mother was also overjoyed at his success. Abinash said that he was indebted to his parents, family members, teachers and well-wishers. He loves reading, painting and writing poems during his leisure time. He wants to become a doctor and is preparing for the NEET exam. Abinash had secured second position in the HSLC exam.

Nibir Deka of Anundooram Barooah Academy secured 4th position in the Science stream. Kunal Talukdar of Anundooram Barooah Academy secured 10th position in Science stream and Abhijit Choudhury of Krishna Kanta Handique Junior College also secured 10th position in Science stream. Again in Arts stream, Jusmita Goswami of KK Handique Junior College secured 3rd position, Alismita Sarania of the same college secured 8th position while Chandrika Kalita, also of the same college, secured 10th position.

Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta, Munindra Sarma congratulated all the candidates for their outstanding performance. He visited the residence of Kashmiri Das of Barpeta who secured 2nd position in the Arts stream and felicitated her.
