ABMSU activists set afire effigies of Sonowal, Hagrama

Kokrajhar: The activists of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) burnt tyres on the road in Kokrajhar town while All Bodoland Minority Students’ Union (ABMSU) activists burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Salakati Bazar in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill during the 11-hour bandh called by NESO and supported by various organizations on Tuesday.

The bandh evoked a total response in Kokrajhar district as all business establishments, markets, shops, and offices remained closed while vehicles went off the road. The bandh also hit normal life in Gossaigaon and Porbhotjhora subdivisions of the district but no untoward incident was reported from any part of the district.
