ABSU Remembers Martyr Baliram Boro  At Harisinga

UDALGURI: The Udalguri district committee ABSU observed the 23rd death anniversary of martyr Baliram Boro at his native village Memberbasti at Harisinga.

The programme begins with the hoisting of the flag by Dipen Boro, the vice-president of ABSU, followed by the floral tribute to the martyr by Gajen Hajowary, former president of undivided Darrang district ABSU. A discussion was held on the theme ‘Jwhwlao Baliram Boro’s life and his ideals’. The meeting was presided over by Rinjoy Boro, the secretary of ABSU.

ABSU president Pramod Boro said that Baliram Boro was a genius who had dreamt of making the Bodo community a developed one. “The ABSU is trying to follow his ideals,” he said. He said that the ABSU was sincerely working for the all-round development of the Bodo community.

Manik Basumatari, the president of Udalguri district Bodo Sahitya Sabha, and Sumitra Boro, the president of the Udalguri district committee of All Bodo Women Welfare Federation, also addressed the meeting. Prodeep Kumar Daimary, the ABSU, PJACBM supported UPPL candidate for the 8-Mangaldai constituency, attended the meeting.

Rinjoy Daimary, the secretary of ABSU, expressed his satisfaction at the success of the programme and appealed to people to believe in the ideals of the ABSU.
