ABSU to Organize Talent Search Examination Across State

Kokrajhar: The 6th Central Talent Search Examination, 2019 organized by the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) is scheduled to be held on September 29 at 194 examination centres in sixteen districts of Assam. The secretary of Education, ABSU Kastom Basumatary said the total number of students applied from Cass IX is 7,668 and Class X is 6118, while altogether students appearing in the examination is 13786. This exam is exclusively organized for the Bodo medium students across the State, he said before the media persons at Bodofa House, Kokrajhar on Friday.

The Central Talent Search Examination is a part of the Mission Quality Education of ABSU, its main aim and objective for conducting Central Talent search examination is to improve the quality and competiveness amongst the Bodo medium students, he said adding that this examination was conducted for the first time in the year 2014 for Bodo medium students of Class IX and X. This is headed by Central Talent Search Examination Board which is monitored by Central Committee ABSU. Professor of Janata College, Serfanguri Dr. Adaram Basumatary is the chairperson while vice president of ABSU Romeo P Narzary is the Controller of examination and education secretary of the union Kastom Basumatary is the Examination Co-ordinator. The ABSU felicitates scholarship to top three position holders from both class IX and X with Rs. 10,000 to 1st position, Rs. 7000 to 2nd position and Rs. 5000 to 3rd position respectively along with citation and Bodo traditional Aronai and each one of those with 85% and above as distinction holder students will be awarded with Rs. 2,000 as one-time scholarship along with Bodo traditional Aronai on the occasion of observation of next ABSU convention to be held at Ramfalbil in November next.
