GUWAHATI: Assam Cricket Association, along with Assam Police and District Administration, organised a Joint Press Meet on India and Sri Lanka One- Dayer at the Conference Hall of the ACA Stadium, Barsapara, Guwahati on Saturday

Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Bora, BCCI joint secretary Devajit Lon Saikia, ACA president Taranga Gogoi, Kamrup (M) DC Pallab Gopal Jha and Traffic DCP Hiranya Kumar Barman addressed the press meet.

Assam Cricket Assn president Taranga Gogoi, while addressing the press meet, assured that all arrangements have been made. "We are 100 percent ready. Even the norms for vendors have been worked out. Fogging for mosquitos, chemical spraying for snakes have been done. Around 23,000 tickets have been sold till now. We are expecting a houseful crowd. We appeal for peaceful conduct and ask everyone to come for the match, "Gogoi said. He was also hopeful of getting a World Cup match as an ODI instead of a T20 is being played here.

Devajit Saikia informed that very little space is available at the practice area and appealed for people to cooperate as BCCI will be monitoring everything, including the toilet reports. The two teams will practice on January 8 and 9. "ACA will be under the scanner," he said. He added that the match is important in terms of Guwahati getting to host a World Cup match and urged for public support to make it a success.

Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, Shri Pallav Gopal Jha, informed that the spectators would be allowed to bring only wallets, mobile phones, car keys and the national flag without stick into the stadium

Guwahati Police Commissioner Diganta Borah, in his turn, said the stadium gates would be opened 3 hours before start of the match. "There will be designated parking places. Instead of bringing individual cars, we would like to appeal to people to pool cars, to reduce overcrowding of vehicles." He also informed that only accredited people will be allowed at the practice sessions.

Traffic DCP Hiranya Kumar Barman outlined the traffic regulations being imposed in the city.

To ensure safety of the public, especially vulnerable road users like children, students. women, senior citizens and differently- abled persons on the road and to give free passage to the emergency vehicles like Ambulances. Fire tenders etc , the following restrictions on the movement of vehicles shall be imposed on the day of One Day International Cricket Match between India and Sri Lanka to be held at ACA Stadium. Barsapara, Guwahati on 10. January, 2023.

Restrictions On The Movement Of Vehicles: 1. Plying of commercial goods carrying vehicles of 4 wheels and above shall be restricted on NH-27 and NH-17 falling under Guwahati City from 7 AM to 11:30 PM on 10. January, 2023. 2. Plying of commercial goods carrying vehicles of 3 wheels and above shall be restricted on AK Azad road and AK Dev road from 7 AM to 11:30 PM on 10. January, 2023. 3. A.K_Azad Road (Lakhra road) shall be one way from 10 AM to 11:30 PM on 10. January, 2023. The vehicles shall be allowed to ply from Cyck Factory side towards Lakhra Chariali. Vehicles that not be allowed to enter from Lakhra Chariali except car pass holders for the match, school buses and emerge, vehicles including ambulances, fire tenders etc. 4.

On the match day, Barsapara Road from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali shall be one way for vehicles with car pass. Vehicles without car passes shall not be allowed to enter from Barsapara Tiniali except local residents. There will be no entry of vehicles from Dhirenpara Tiniali towards Barsapara Stadium.

Entry gates to the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on 10th January, 2023: Gate No- I B: This gate is earmarked for the invitees only with car passes. Vehicles will enter via A.K. Azad Road, via Barsapara Tiniali to Barsapara Stadium.

There will be six Gates for the entry of spectators — Gate No. 2 on Barsapara Road-- People will enter via Barsapara Tiniali (AK And Road); Gate No 3 on R G. Baruah Path-- Spectators will enter via Godrej Gali / Rolling Mill (AK Azad Road); Gate No. 4 on Rolling Mill Road-- will enter via Rolling Mill Tiniali (AK Azad Road); Gate No. 5 on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path will enter via Raghunath Road, (AK Deb Road); Gate No. 6 on Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Path-- will enter via Raghunath Road, (AK Deb Road); and Gate No 7 on Barsapara road-- Will enter via BarsaparaTiniali (AK Azad Road).
