Actor and teacher Biswajit Deka passes away in Goreswar

GORESWAR: Biswajit Deka, an activist of the Assam Movement, an accomplished actor and a teacher, breathed his last due to high blood pressure at the age of 55 on Saturday in his residence at Goreswar in Baksa district. He was taken to the Goreswar 30-bedded Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Deka was an active activist of the Assam Movement. He was also assistant teacher of 142 No. Goreswar Junior Basic School. He acted in several serials of Guwahati Doordarshan centre and in many theatres like Loitporiya Natya Gosthi , Joymati Mini Theatre and Om Natya Gosthi. Deka was closely associated with several socio- cultural organizations here and his death has been widely mourned. He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter and a host of relatives.
