LAKHIMPUR: The Anti-Corruption Youths, Assam (ACYA) has strongly opposed the holding of country-level written test for the appointment of 12 Inspectors of Drugs in the health sector of the State. The organization became vocal against the Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHRB) regarding the issue and expressed resentment at a press meet in North Lakhimpur Press Club on Sunday. “Of late, though the Health Department of the State has attempted to appoint 12 Inspectors of Drugs through MDRB, the Board chairperson Simanta Thakuriya and member secretary Jyotisma Patgiri Medhi have hatched a conspiracy to deprive the eligible candidates from being appointed by holding a country-level written test,” alleged Dharma Kanta Gogoi, the State secretary of the ACYA, at the press meet.

In this regard, he criticized State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also in strong words. He further alleged that NHM Director JVN Subramonium and Executive Director Ashok Kumar Baishya were also involved in the entire development. He said that the advertisement for the appointment of 12 Inspectors of Drugs was notified on January 19. A total of 744 candidates have been shortlisted for appearing in the written exam to be held on March 17. Forty out of those shortlisted candidates are from other States.

At this, the president of the organization along with State secretary Simanta Das demanded the State Government to prevent candidates from other State from appearing for the written test else the organization would initiate agitation programme on March 17.
