

Tinsukia: Additional Director General Border Roads (East), PKH Singh, VSM during his three-day tour that culminated on Wednesday, visited CE (Project) Udayak at Doomdooma and reviewed the progress of critical road infrastructure. He was briefed by the Chief Engineer, Project Udayak, A K Mishra on all the ongoing works in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The ADBBR also interacted with the officers and men of the project and appreciated the work being done by the project to provide safe roads to the users and add connectivity to the remote areas of Arunachal Pradesh. ADGBR (East) inspected the ongoing works, including several important bridges, on the Brahmakund – Arrowa Road, Roing – Hunli Road, which is the lifeline for the Upper Dibang Valley. He interacted with the 'BRO Karmayogis' at all the work sites and directed them to expedite the pace of construction while ensuring the highest quality standards despite the challenges of weather and terrain. The ADGBR (East) also took stock of the measures being undertaken to ensure early restoration of connectivity following monsoon damages and long term measures being undertaken for Disaster Management including rehabilitation of slide prone areas and soil stabilization projects. He also reviewed the progress of inter-valley connectivity projects and measures being taken towards convergence of BRO road construction projects with important national programmes such as MNREGA and PM Gati Shakti. He appreciated the contribution of Project Udayak in development of infrastructure in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and asked them to continue the good work being done in linking the farthest corners of the country with the mainstream.
